Herb & Foraging Walks

Guided herb and foraging walks

Ruth offers guided walks beside the hedgerows or perhaps through meadows, woodland or farm land where you will discover the abundance of natures medicine chest. Learn about the wild medicinals as well as edibles and how you
can forage safely and sustainably throughout the seasons.

You will be encouraged to use your senses to identify with
the plants sensory qualities (aromatic etc). This helps as an important identification tool as well as offering a deeper knowledge of their medicinal properties.

Many common wild plants have a wide variety of uses for common illness and can be used at home for the family.
Ruth will share with you both the herbal wisdom of old and new, discuss foraging ethics and sustainability.

Each seasonal foraging walk will be different and varied in terrain and in plants covered with different types of plant or plant parts emerging throughout the seasons. These may be any number of the following; flowers, herbs, berries, fruits, roots, trees, seeds, seaweeds, some fungi or barks.

Foraging herb walks are often a slow and mindful practice with lots of stops to talk about herbs and habitats. Herb walks are usually around 1.5- 2 hours long.
